If Finch is not fit, Lions should bring Faulkner in. Then Lions will have a strong batting line up with Baz and Smith to open, Raina and Karthick to consolidate the middle order and Sir, Bravo and Faulkner to finish off . that leaves Kumar and kulkarni for power plays, tambe and Sir for middle overs, bravo Faulkner for death overs. when finch returns, Faulkner can go out and line up looks even stronge
ReplyDeleteDD should start with Zaheer and Mishra. As both Smith/ Finch and Baz are not good players of leg spin, it would bring them instant success and with Tahir and other bowlers they can crack down on untested and unreliable middle order of Gujarat Lions.
ReplyDeleteThis going to be the mouth watering contest that we all have been craving for in this edition of IPL. If you think Dravid & co would stick to the last match winning XI you are going to get wrong. DD will include Carlos in place of Tahir as they have to vary of threat form both the dew & Raina factor's.
ReplyDeleteSanju Samson has shown lot of maturity to bat at 3. It is high time we give chances to such youngsters instead of repeatedly picking aging and out of form players. It is also good that Sandeep Sharma and Shami are is back in action and Bhuvi is bowling so well.
ReplyDeleteDaredevils played four South Africans in their last game. Legspinner Imran Tahir, who replaced allrounder Carlos Brathwaite, produced figures of 0 for 29. Daredevils may not tinker with their winning combination.
ReplyDeleteFinch left the field with a hamstring injury in Lions' last win and did not bat. If he is unavailable for this game, Lions may bolster their bowling attack by including Dale Steyn or Faulkner. If they decide to include an overseas bowler, Shadab Jakati may be left out.
